How sense of smell can give you a business advantage?
25 September
We all have that strange side within us which makes us take
a look at our own poop at least once, right? It may be a simple curiosity or an
investigative look, but we do try to make some meaning out of it.
Well, even if it’s going to be flushed down the drain, poop
still matters!
The color of poop has been used as a diagnostic tool for centuries. It actually indicates a lot more than you can imagine! Here’s what the color of your poop indicates about your health.
1. Brown
The brown color of poop is not because of
what you had eaten before. It is the most common color of poop and it’s because
of chemical reactions which happen during the digestion process. The bile fluid
infused food is metabolized in the intestines by gut bacteria. This process results
in different shades of brown that you can see in your poop.
Brown means normal. Phew!
Black poop is not natural and it indicates
some problem along the digestive track. Usually it indicates presence of blood
which turns black upon digestion. It can indicate scars/ulcers in the
intestines or elsewhere in digestive track. Discovering black poop is a sign of
concern, and one should definitely get it checked by a medical professional.
Whitish Grey color of the poop actually
indicates the absence of the natural brown color. The natural brown color is a sign
of a health bowel movement and digestion process. the lack of brown color
suggests that there could be some problems with bile – which is a liquid
secreted by liver for digestion. The problem could be with bile production or a
blockade. This is also a sign of concern and one should get it checked right
away.
Green poop is observed when the food has
not been digested fully and is excreted rapidly. This is an indication of loose
motions or a diarrheic condition. Retaining green or the original color of
food shows that all is not well in your digestion process. It may also indicate
some sort of infection in the intestines.
Red poop is usually a result of dyes and
colors used in food items, which cannot be digested and are excreted as they
are. Naturally red food such as beets and artificially-colored food such as
tomato ketchup etc. may be responsible for the red color. Sometimes it can also
indicate bleeding in the lower digestive track. One needs to audit the past intake
of food and its correlation with the color of poop.
So, by now you would have realized that brown-colored poop,
however ugly it looks, is the healthiest poop one could ever get. Deviation
from that color usually indicates that something is amiss.
In the same way, the smell of poop is also indicative of
many things. But sniffing it every day without any solid reason, seems a little
less intelligent. Rather, use Smell Well and block that odor entirely!
