Since childhood days, poop
has been a notorious topic to talk about. Usually, people feel disgusted
talking about it, or may be shy! The reason behind is some myths and a lot of
ignorance about the digestion and ultimately – the poop.

some myths about pooping that you would have come across at some point in your
life. Starting from its color to its smell and everything around – today you
know the truth of pooping!
Myth 1: Brown-colored
poop is a sign of good health
It is not like just brown
poop is the healthy poop. The color of poop may change because of a variety of
reasons. At the same time, there could be problems prevailing in your body but
still the color remains unchanged! So, considering color as a diagnosing factor
for health issues is not that straight.
It could be yellow, tan, or
green and still you are healthy! Usually the unusual color occur due to
medication or food. But the color may indicate a problem such as bleeding (red
or black), liver problems (white or gray), or diarrhoea (green).

Myth 2: Feeling giddy
after pooping is unusual
Feeling “giddy” means feeling
your head spinning about or simply dizzy! Sometimes people feel more energetic
or in good mood after pooping and there is science behind it. Taking a dump may
stimulate the Vagus nerve in the brain which results in a
drop in your heart rate and BP.
So yes! Pooping can be a
truly and scientifically proven relaxing experience. Especially when you
combine it with attractive washroom interior and your favourite aroma.
Myth 3: The poop floats
because of ‘fats’ inside it
The logic says that ‘fats’
are lighter than water and that’s why the poop floats when you drop it like it
HOT! But the actual reason is different. Firstly, it depends on the amount of
fibre which decides how dense it would be. Secondly, the fats are mostly
digested and absorbed by now.
The actual reason is – GAS!
As the food is digested in lower intestine, a lot of gas emerges and some of it
is trapped in the poop. This makes it less dense and it is more likely to
float. It is perfectly normal and there is nothing unusual at all.
Except one thing, the
floating ones release the bad odour directly in the air! You need a blocking
mechanism if they float in your toilet!
Myth 4: Normal and
healthy people do not ‘pass gas’
Well, sometime we wonder if
certain person would be ever ‘farting’ at all? But, be prepared with your nose
closed!! Everybody ‘pass gas’ every now and then. The combined natural tally is
about 14 burps or farts a day. Gasses may occur as a digestion by-product or
because of the food or carbonated cold drinks. Sometimes, people are lactose
intolerant or they have another gastrointestinal disorder which result in
‘passing gas’ more than usual!
Myth 5: Poop doesn’t
smell bad if you have healthy diet
Poop is a crazy mixture of
all sorts of nasty things! This includes microbes, salts, digestive juices,
undigested foods, gas and so many other things. In a way, nature indicates
everyone to stay away, with the bad smell. So, smelly poop is as normal as it
could get.
If you have a healthy diet,
your body will absorb all the good stuff and ultimately, the poop will be made
of BAD STUFF! If you want to change the smell with diet, NOT POSSIBLE!
Yes, you can definitely make
the washroom smell the way you want, with Smell Well! Not the poop! Poop is
going to be stinky, no matter what!
